Campuses

Principia School

Principia’s spacious St. Louis campus is an incredible 360-acre educational resource for students at all levels. Classrooms are never limited to four walls. Students often move to other spaces, such as the museum, dance studio, or Mac lab, or out of the building to the fields or nearby Lasky Pond. With topics ranging from gardening to surveying, pond life to painting, teachers and students turn the campus into a laboratory, a studio, even a stage at times. Learning can occur anywhere, and at Principia, it does!

Every level has its own learning spaces including classrooms, courts, gyms, labs, studios, sports fields, a pool, and playgrounds. The result is that all students have a special place to call home, while at the same time feeling familiar with every corner of the campus.

Principia College

Campus is elegant but not stuffy; it’s big but feels cozy. You can easily walk or bike across its core, but beyond that are hundreds of acres to explore—2,600 of them.

Our indoor spaces are impressive, too. The older buildings are stunning, thanks to renowned architect Bernard Maybeck. Some have vaulted ceilings and fireplaces so big you can stand in them while you roast marshmallows.

We’ve got more modern buildings, too. Our newest is the Coach Crafton Athletic Center with state-of-the-art facilities, including two weight rooms, an indoor track, a pole vault pit, a golf/batting cage, basketball/volleyball courts, and an eight-lane, 40-meter stretch pool with a separate diving well. Put the old and the new together, and you’ve got space for just about anything from recreation to reflection, from Sunday evening hymn sings to movie night on the Chapel green.

“The Principia takes the position that education in its fullest sense cannot be confined to academic subjects but includes the building of character.”
