Assistant Middle School House Parent and Tutor

House parents perform the the role of parents while boarding students are away from their own homes, providing the structure, atmosphere, and discipline of home, and serving as character educators. Christian Science Nurse

- Full-time, school-year position (40 weeks) beginning as soon as possible

Provides Christian Science nursing care for the campus community; fulfills the Manual provision for Christian Science nursing while supporting the purpose and policies of Principia; preferred to live on campus if housing is available; must be able to fulfill a workweek consisting of rotating schedules of on-duty time as well as on-call availability as a backup nurse; may need to be immunized and/or tested for contagious diseases as mandated by the Department of Health in order to be able to continue discharging duties. Photographer/Videographer

The Marketing and Communications Department photographer/videographer plays a vital role in telling the Principia story in a clear, consistent, and compelling way to a variety of audiences. This individual is responsible for providing a regular stream of photographs and videos highlighting the activities across Principia and illustrating student and faculty accomplishments. He or she must be able to catalog, warehouse, and access a growing library of photos and videos. Creativity, strong people and collaboration skills, initiative, flexibility, and technical and artistic skills are required. Resident Counselor - Upperclass Women's Dorm

The upperclass Resident Counselor (RC) is a character educator, assisting the dean of students in the implementation of Student Life's educational charge (with emphasis on Principia Policy 19, College-wide learning outcomes, and Student Life outcomes). The RC encourages residents to grow as students of Christian Science, in moral courage, and as world thinkers and healers; provides a spiritually nurturing home life for students, acting with respect, compassion, and patience; lives/works in the RC apartment in the house; and is on-call 24/7 to oversee the house and support student needs. The RC is consistently watchful and spiritually discerning regarding student well-being, house activities, safety, and the overall welfare of the student body; consistently turns students to Christian Science; counsels and provides support and spiritual nurturing; models Christian behavior at all times; builds a relationship with each student in the house; advises the student house governing board; organizes house activities in collaboration with the house governing board; supports students who violate community standards; exercises moral courage in helping students find freedom from destructive behavior; participates in the integrated Student Life curriculum of character unfoldment programming (including Moral Reasoning programs). Student Affairs Manager/Office Manager

- Full-time, 12-month position beginning as soon as possible

The Student Affairs Manager works closely with the Dean of Students and serves on the Student Life management team; serves as project and research manager for the Dean’s initiatives and represents the Dean on select committees; acts as student Grievance Manager related to student harassment, hazing, bullying, bias and discrimination (hereafter referred to as “harassment grievances”) and stays abreast of legal requirements and best practices; develops and maintains expertise in the field of Student Affairs; supervises the Student Funds Administrator; manages the campus-wide student club program; manages Student Life websites and social media platforms; acts as Budget Manager and Office Manager for Student Life; requires a high level of professionalism, interpersonal skills, accuracy, and confidentiality. Minimum Qualifications: Active Christian Science Mother Church and local branch church membership; Christian Science class instruction; Bachelor’s Degree; Demonstrated ability to treat sensitive information with the utmost discretion, confidentiality, and poise, including student, legal, personnel, and detailed financial information; Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate complex issues across constituencies calmly, effectively, humbly, and with spiritual grace; Excellent written and oral communication skills; high level of accuracy; Able to work across multiple projects of varying complexity; demonstrated ability to appropriately prioritize work; strong technical and organizational skills; ability to manage competing deadlines without compromising quality of work; solid knowledge of Microsoft Office; Experience in research, editing, proofreading, and synthesizing information for presentation purposes; • Ability to work and problem-solve independently • Ability to effectively provide executive-level counsel and support by translating day-to-day issues and tasks into the larger context of serving the Cause of Christian Science; Higher education/Student Affairs work experience, preferred; Title IX certification and experience with student grievances, preferred; Project management and budgeting, preferred; Familiarity with website and social media platform design/management or willing to learn, preferred; Available evenings or weekends if needed to coordinate grievances or attend activities. *This description includes some, but not all, of the activities and responsibilities assigned to this position.
