Acorn Assistant/Elsah Bus Chaperone

Dean of Students

- Full-time, 12-month position beginning January 2016

This position supports Principia’s goal of promoting Christian Science-based character education through the development and implementation of student-centered programs and activities. The dean of students works actively across Principia School to strengthen a School-wide culture focused on excellence in the classroom, support the Community Commitment, and create authentic learning and leadership opportunities for students. This position oversees policy development and review; a residential program that includes boys' and girls' dorms for both the Upper and Middle Schools; and the Reconciliation Advisory Board (school disciplinary process). Director of Development

- Full-time, 12-month position beginning as soon as possible

An effective director of development is critical to the success of Principia’s fundraising activities. This position is responsible for fully developing and overseeing the major gifts operation, which includes leading a team of development officers, managing a portfolio of prospective donors, preparing gift proposals, providing marketing insight, and working with donors and their legal and financial advisors. Regular travel associated with donor cultivation and public relations is required, in addition to administrative and donor stewardship duties. Responsible for ensuring preservation of and access to the permanent historical records of The Principia in multiple formats; provides professional leadership in the management of the Principia Archives and rare book and manuscript collections; works collaboratively with department members to provide reference services, cataloging, preservation, exhibits, and digitization; works as part of the library team to maintain excellence in collections, services, and programs. Home Life Manager

The home life manager is a character educator managing student housing services in order to provide a Christian Science-based approach to residential life and house leadership. The Institutional Research Officer is responsible for data collection and analysis in support of student learning, reaffirmation of accreditation, strategic planning, budgeting, and college operations. Technical Director (Theatre)

- Full-time, 10-month position beginning fall semester, 2016

Serves as technical director for the Department of Theatre and Dance, assisting with technical theatre courses, primarily having to do with stagecraft and production crew, and overseeing construction and installation of set designs for dance production, theatre productions, and other events. Minimum Qualifications: Active Christian Science Mother Church and local branch church membership; Christian Science class instruction required within a reasonable period; willingness to turn readily to God for guidance; advanced degree in technical direction or scenic design, preferred; professional experience in technical direction and/or technical theatre design; willingness to develop new proficiencies in areas outside of current expertise; proven teaching experience in an academic or professional setting; Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team; knowledge of theatre operations including safe practices, theatrical construction, scenic painting, light board programming. *This description includes some, but not all, of the activities and responsibilities assigned to this position.
