Administrative Assistant - Dean of Students' Office

Performs varied and responsible tasks supporting Upper School activities and the administration, particularly the Dean of Students' office. Prepares and processes office records and correspondence. Interacts with parents, administrators, faculty, students, service employees, and others. Takes initiative. Provides a warm, welcoming presence in the office and foresees needs. Creates and prepares Dean of Students' office correspondence. Organizes ongoing and special projects. Schedules meetings and helps maintain campus meeting room calendars. Assists Dean of Students' staff members, Head of School's office, and Academic Dean's office with projects as needed. Reconciles credit card accounts for the Dean. Admissions Data Systems Analyst / System Administrator

- Full-time, 12-month, dual-campus position beginning as soon as possible

Works closely with Admissions offices and CIS developers. Provides data and system expertise on programs and processes, version upgrades, and supporting software, including reporting/processing tools; also provides support for the Assistant Director of Admissions - Systems and Data. Essential Duties: develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of the School's and College's data systems; completes ad-hoc School and College surveys; ensures data integrity by employing various edit reports and sweepers; maintains other operational systems that integrate with data structures; performs system admin tasks for School and College systems; helps end-users develop and maintain training materials and procedural documentation; provides training and functional support and troubleshooting to end-users of data systems; works as part of a flexible cross-campus team. After-School Program Worker

- Nine-month, partial school-day position (3:00-5:45); beginning immediately

Assists the After-School Program Director in all aspects of the program. Supervises students after school on the playground and in the after-school care room. Works with the director and student helpers to supervise the playground and to set up and supervise indoor activities. Facilitates safety and helping students problem solve in any inharmonious situations, disciplining when necessary. Assists in preparation and serving of snacks and planning and executing art/craft activities. Helps to establish consistent expectations and policies regarding the playground and other activities. Monitors the check-in desk when instructed to do so by the director. Assists with record-keeping as needed. Coordinates the general upkeep and cleanliness of the facilities. Helps establish a comfortable and productive recreation/learning environment for students. Arrives at after-school care room by 3 p.m. and typically stays until all children are picked up. Assumes director's responsibilities if the director needs to be absent. Minimum Qualifications: Membership in The Mother Church. Active branch church membership. Christian Science class instruction preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Classroom experience with elementary children. Coach

- Part-time, seasonal position

Maintains an effective working relationship with the assistant athletic director, department secretary, head varsity coaches, and assistant coaches. Builds and coaches a team of young Christian Scientists, and creates opportunities to connect players to Christian Science. Fosters a developing sense of character and completeness in each student. Demonstrates and communicates Principia's athletic creed of spiritual growth, hard work, and sportsmanship. Organizes practices and events. Teaches sport-specific skills. Inspires a disciplined, fun environment. Displays a good balance of structure and attainable goals, with an emphasis on spiritualization of thought as the primary means for growth. Able to detect areas for improvement and provide suggestions for player conduct and techniques, team ethics, tactics, and strategies. Supports the program during off-season periods. Must have love of young people and sports. Minimum Qualifications: Membership in The Mother Church and active branch church membership required; Christian Science class instruction preferred; Group coaching, teaching, and/or instruction experience; Bachelor's degree required; Able to understand, build rapport, and interact effectively with students; Compassionate, creative, persistent, responsible, and organized; A whole-man character educator; Able to meet players where they are with patience, and demonstrate tolerance for less skilled athletes. Builds team concept in developing relationships among players and incorporating each player's role on the team. Special Requirements: It is expected that all coaches will be on duty for every team practice and competitive event while school is in session and, as necessary, for sports camp and other coaches meetings. Coaches are expected to obtain/retain a commercial driver's license and drive Principia school buses. Principia will provide training. CPR certificate required. Principia will provide training. Non-faculty coaches are expected to attend and complete the Coaching Principles courses offered by MSHSAA and to ensure that assistant coaches also complete them. Senior Accountant

- Full-time, twelve-month position, beginning immediately

Manages tax activities for both campuses, handles unclaimed property, completes surveys, performs credit card audits, supports month-end close activities, and prepares reports, reconciliations, and schedules for annual audit. Essential Duties: Manages non-resident alien tax process for student and corporation payments; prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual Principia tax returns; generates 1099s; assists with audit preparation; performs other duties as necessary. Qualifications: Active Christian Science church membership; Christian Science class instruction preferred. Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent degree/experience. CPA preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Assistant Director of Facilities

- Full-time position, 12 months, beginning as soon as possible

Assists the Director of Facilities in managing a large, diverse workforce and overseeing renovations, maintenance, and repair for 52 structures comprising nearly 940,000 square feet, associated grounds for the College-owned utility infrastructure, waste water treatment plant, and 66 College-owned housing units; assists in overseeing a $4 million operating budget; works closely with the Building Trades & Rental Housing Manager and Customer Services Manager in the day-to-day operations, maintenance, service, and repair of the College campus; ensures that all aspects of facilities work meet College standards for quality, safety, sustainability, regulatory standards, as well as budgetary and time-related goals; assists with Principia's safety program as it relates to Facilities Department operations and in cooperation with the Workplace Safety Department; leads emergency response teams; shares on-call responsibilities. Teaches between 18 and 21 semester hours per year in the following general areas: creative writing, with additional teaching duties in early American literature, medieval British literature, or literature of diversity; advanced work in one of these areas preferred. Classroom Faculty: Religion

Teaches religious and biblical studies from an academic viewpoint. Primary academic specialization within the field of religious studies is open, but must be competent to teach some courses in biblical studies in support of general education requirements and religion majors and minors; areas of specialization and teaching competence could include religious ethics, religion and society, religious history, comparative religion, or philosophy of religion. Must demonstrate sensitivity and skill in responding to student queries about the relationship between Christian Science and course material. PACE Program Coordinator

Coordinates services and support for continuing education programs produced by the College; has administrative responsibility for Autumn Session; is responsible for the business processes of the PACE office, including accurate data entry of financial transactions and accounting; provides exceptional customer relations and communications with prospective adult students; enriches the quality of work associated with all continuing education program excellence, customer service and relations, marketing communication, and execution. PIR Technician/Media Services Technician & Developer

- Full-time postion, 12 months, beginning as soon as possible

This is a dual-reporting position split 50/50 between PIR (Principia Internet Radio) and Media Services. PIR role: assumes responsibility for daily operational needs; maintains equipment and trains others on equipment operation and procedures; supports campus events that are broadcast live on PIR. Media Services role: Responsible for some immediate technical needs, but primarily responsible for projects that help develop and enhance the event support capabilities of the department; keeps abreast of technology; oversees proper installation of new equipment and provides operational training; works in collaboration with the technical manager to be aware of challenges facing equipment operators in order to develop improved procedures, enhanced equipment knowledge, and smart equipment acquisitions; coordinates the maintenance, repairs, upgrades, replacement, and disposal of Media Services' million dollar-plus equipment inventory. Minimum Qualifications: Active Christian Science Mother Church and local branch church membership; Christian Science class instruction preferred. Formal training or commensurate experience in such disciplines as electronics, audio engineering, and computer technology; understanding of radio (technical, operational, and basic management) and Internet protocol and functionality. Resident Counselor (Men's Dorm)

- Full-time position, 35 weeks, beginning July 2012

The resident counselor is a character educator, assisting the dean of students in the implementation of the Office of Student Life's educational charge (see Principia's Policy 19 and College-Wide Learning Outcomes) to help students become public-spirited citizens and practicing students of Christian Science. By example, instruction, and counseling, he or she encourages spiritual growth in meeting intellectual, physical, social, and moral challenges among students in the house and throughout the campus. Security Officer

Technical Manager, Media Services

- Full-time position, 12 months, beginning March 01, 2012

This position includes broad responsibilities in regards to both equipment and personnel. Additionally, this is the lead technical support person for all events [excluding major Theatre Department productions] on campus that require audio/video/performance lighting support. Event support includes final responsibility for assuring that the correct equipment and personnel are assigned to cover each event and that each event is supported in a professional manner. Event support also includes the proper selection and placement of lights and misc. audio equalization and testing of the setup, and audio console/recording equipment operation during the event. Equipment responsibilities include primary responsibility for the Media Services $1,000,000 equipment inventory. This includes proper equipment operation, maintenance, replacement, transport, and storage, as well as operator training. Personnel responsibilities include primary responsibility for the guidance, training, discipline, scheduling, oversight, and operation of the student Tech Crew and secondary responsibility for the supervision of the student Video Crew. Minimum Qualifications: Active Christian Science Mother Church and local branch church membership; Christian Science class instruction preferred; Formal training and/or commensurate significant, recent experience in such related disciplines as electronics, sound engineering, stage lighting, and computer technology; Ability to work flexible hours, including most evenings and weekends; Ability to climb ladders and work on catwalks, other high areas, and in close quarters; Strong knowledge of and experience with high quality sound pickup and audio recording equipment; Well versed in computer audio editing using an industry-recognized audio software package such as Pro Tools; Fundamental understanding of electronic and acoustic theory as it pertains to audio circuitry, signal levels, impedance, matching, hall acoustics, reverberation, and feedback; "good ear" for sound quality; Demonstrated skill with lighting design, set-up, and light board programming preferred; Strong interpersonal, management, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills; Self-motivated and a team player.
