Inductees are nominated by their peers. Final selections are made by a committee composed of current staff in the Alumni and Athletic offices and members of the Alumni Association. Hall of Fame nominees must meet the following criteria:

• Any Principia College alumnus or alumna who earned a varsity letter and outstanding accomplishments or records in athletics is eligible for nomination to membership in the Gold & Blue Athletic Hall of Fame. Similarly, outstanding teams and distinguished members of the Principia College coaching staff are also eligible for nomination and membership.
   

• Individual athletes and team members must have graduated at least 10 years prior to nomination.

• Coaches must have retired or departed from the College at least two years prior to nomination.

• Nominations may be made by anyone, and individuals who are not selected in a given year will remain on future ballots for a six-year period.
