Our Community

Every student, staff member, parent, grandparent, and alum is a valued member of the Principia School community! As an extended family, we build on shared experiences and traditions to support each other and to embrace the new students, families, and faculty who join our ranks each year. Practicing inclusivity, trust, and honest communication, we maintain a vibrant community, characterized by joy, selflessness, and a love of learning.

Spiritual Growth

The teachings of Christian Science underpin everything we do. We see every child as unlimited—in potential and ability.

Character Growth

Our approach reflects founder Mary Kimball Morgan’s focus on thinking fearlessly and living selflessly.

“Our son has learned what it means to be unconditionally loved by his community.”

— Principia parent

Helping students take on responsibility and lead is key to the effectiveness of Principia’s student-centered approach. Academics, athletics, and our House/Crew system provide a variety of ways to get involved and contribute. And senior year offers special opportunities for students to demonstrate their capabilities and confidence.

Parents Association

The Principia Parents Association (PPA) promotes parent participation in, and support of, Principia School at every level from Acorn through Upper School. Harnessing the enthusiasm and input of parents, the PPA supports community bonding and pride by hosting special events and activities that benefit student life and raise funds for specific projects. The PPA also encourages metaphysical support of Principia and promotes smooth communication and a sound parent-School working relationship.
