Message from Coach Pete Paciorek

It’s a terrific time to be a fan of Principia College baseball! The 2010 team had a season for the record books—winning the most games in a single season since joining the
St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) in 1990 and breaking 24 other College baseball records. The team also had five players nominated for the SLIAC All-Conference team and won the SLIAC Sportsmanship Award. We are clearly on the verge of becoming a playoff-caliber team on a consistent basis. And this summer, two juniors, Alan Cheatham and Greg Ball, earned All-Star team honors competing against many Division I players in the Hawaiian Collegiate League and Mountain Collegiate League.

Last year’s impressive accomplishments provide a strong foundation for continued success. In order to build on that foundation, however, the time has come for major improvements to our facilities with the addition of a press box and permanent seating.

We need to provide our fans an attractive, comfortable, and enjoyable viewing experience with stadium-style seating instead of temporary bleachers and a bare hillside. Equally important, adding a press box will provide restroom facilities for the fans and appropriate workspace for our announcer, statistician, scoreboard operator, and Internet radio broadcasters.

Improving our facilities will also increase our success recruiting and retaining players since they see our facilities as a direct representation not only of our commitment to the baseball program but of its success. The new press box and seating will significantly add to the overall atmosphere and energy of the baseball program.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of financial support for this key project. With your help, we hope to have it completed in time for the start of our 2011 season. We’re eager for Principia College baseball to continue to grow and improve as a respected Division III program, and we look forward to having you join us on this exciting journey!
